UNEX-EF
Introduction
UNEX EF38 is a semi-automatic ultrasonic device for the measurement of endothelial function by flow-mediated dilation (FMD)
UNEX EF38 counts on an edge-tracking software which allows for the automated detection of the intima. Arterial diameters can thereby be tracked over the entire FMD test time, prior to occlusion for the determination of rest diameter, during the occlusion phase and each heart beat post occlusion. The true maximum arterial diameter post occlusion cannot be missed.
UNEX EF38 operates via a robotic arm which - guided by the software of the image trace – is heading the ultrasound probe automatically to the optimal position for derivation of the arterial image. As a consequence the reproducibility of test results is increased, as UNEX EF38 eliminates the operator-dependency in FMD. The ultrasound probe is H-shaped and thereby able to capture one long- and two short-axis images simultaneously.
UNEX EF38 PC based software allows for display of diameter and flow curves over time. Indicies, such as the area-under-the-curve (AUC) can be exported directly into Excel and CSV file format.
